I work in a funeral home and myself and another co-worker take turns answering phones at night. This year it just so happend that Thanksgiving fell on my night off so I was free from phones. This is great since I have a 4 year old and I have family to visit and a meal to cook. My 59 year old co-worker, who has no family nearby and will be home anyways, is going around telling everyone that we switched days so I will be answering the phone for him on Thanksgiving. He never mentioned this to me. What’s worse is a part time employee actually offerd to cover phones for him and he refused her saying that I had already agreed to do it. My boss angrily approaches me today and asks me if we worked out Thanksgiving. I told him I didn’t know what he was talking about and that I have plans for that day. He demanded to know exactly what time I will be doing what I need to do so that he knows when I will be able to answer phones. I am currently waiting for this co-worker to come back so I can confront him. Jerk.
